Ice Climbing
Join us this winter for an adventure you’ll never forget! Courses are progressive and we offer something for every skill level. Join us at our New Paltz base camp where we will gear up and separate into ability groups. We will then be spirited by our Urban Sherpa coaches to various headwalls depending on weather and ice accumulation. We provide all climbing equipment, including plastic boots, ice axes, crampons and all climbing equipment. In our Beginner courses you’ll learn what all that sharp pointy stuff is and how all it all works. Our professional instructors will get you outside and climbing ice in no time at all. The entire day will be spent outside, progressing from low-angled slabs to vertical ice. Our Intermediate and Advanced courses will be tailored to your skills and goals.

These programs are individually designed to accommodate climbers with varying levels of experience, from beginners to seasoned rock-athletes. All equipment is provided including helmet, harness, shoes and all technical climbing gear.

White Water Rafting
At the end of ski season, don’t let the melting snow bum you out. Ride it one more time on a whitewater rafting trip down the Lehigh River in the Poconos. Join us on a special dam-release day to discover one of the prettiest and most pristine places in the tri-state area. There’s enough big whitewater action to get really
soaked, yet the trip is still ideal for first-timers. -

Hunter Mountain will build the largest zipline and include a tree canopy tour, a four story Adventure Tower and a mountain safari.

Join your Urban Sherpa leaders for a series of six Burton-sponsored adventures to Hunter Mountain this winter. Find out about the latest Burton gear, bags, boots, and boards. Learn more about Burton pro team riders like Shaun White or Kelly Clark or just explore “The Good Book,” Burton’s latest product encyclopedia. You are about to embark on an odyssey through the wonderful and inspiring world of Burton. Eastern Mountain Sports (EMS)
Eastern Mountain Sports and Urban Sherpa team up to bring the EMS Adventure Series: skiing, snowboarding, and climbing. Choose an adventure, sign up for weekly outdoor adventures, and use your current lift or climbing ticket for in-store discounts. Need information about equipment? EMS store guides are active participants in the sports they support. Their firsthand knowledge, combined with ongoing product training, means you can expect informed answers that help you perform better and have more fun outside.

NYCSKI&Board is the specialized single-day vendor preferred by over 6,000 New Yorkers. They are the winter season’s largest operation to Hunter and Windham Mountains. New Yorkers can expect to ride Killington, Stratton, Mount Snow, Jay Peak, Steamboat, and Big Sky mountains from November to April.
